About
Tessel Brühl is an independent artist-designer from Amsterdam (NL) whose work revolves around the performative action. She makes and enables others to make. As creative director her specialty is decor- and costume design and production as a medium for fictional narratives. The fictional realm of the Super Tessel universe is a colourful world made of spandex. Here reality can be stretched and dreams become wearable. In everything she creates –costumes, clothing, installations, performances and workshops, she aims to make communication physical.
Tessel has graduated from the ‘Man and Communication’ bachelor course at Design Academy Eindhoven in 2011 (cum laude) and obtained a Master in Visual Strategies at the Sandberg Instituut of Amsterdam in 2014. She is an experienced teacher for institutions such as Design Academy Eindhoven, AKV St. Joost of Den Bosch and Breda, ArtEZ Academy of Art & Design of Arnhem, Sandberg Instituut of Amsterdam, Artemis and HKU University of the Arts of Utrecht where her classes focus on concept development and thinking through making.
